What we stock, and why
Our job is simple: get plastic away from your food. Every product in this store is chosen to replace a plastic item in your kitchen — especially single-use plastic and plastic that gets heated, scrubbed, or cut, which research shows are the biggest sources of microplastic release into food.
The materials we love
Borosilicate glass. Heat-resistant, non-porous, and inert. It doesn't absorb odours, doesn't stain, and doesn't shed anything into your food — no matter how many times you microwave it.
Bamboo. Fast-growing, naturally antibacterial, and durable. Our cutting boards and brush handles are whole bamboo, not composite with plastic resins.
Stainless steel. The workhorse. Corrosion-resistant, unbreakable, and endlessly recyclable.
Cotton, wood pulp & natural fibres. Our towels, cloths, and brush bristles clean hard and compost when they're done — unlike synthetic sponges and microfibre cloths, which shed plastic fibres every wash.
Beeswax & organic cotton. Our food wraps replace cling film with washable, reusable, compostable material.
Let's talk about silicone — honestly
A few of our products (our food storage bags and our cooking utensil heads) are made from food-grade platinum silicone. Silicone is technically a polymer, and we won't pretend otherwise.
So why do we stock it? Because the realistic alternative for most people isn't nothing — it's single-use plastic zipper bags and plastic spatulas melting against hot pans. Platinum-cured silicone is highly stable across a wide temperature range, doesn't contain BPA or phthalate plasticizers, and lasts for years instead of one use. We consider it a big step in the right direction, and we label it clearly so you can decide for yourself.
